Capital Campaign:
Syracuse. Historic Old St. John’s Church is the fourth oldest Catholic Church in New York State. We have a proud tradition and
history that we hope to keep alive for generations to come. The presence of God is experienced daily by all who enter through the doors of our venerable church building and our parish center outreach doors.
The time has come for us to ensure that our church continues to flourish through a third millennium. Therefore, we find it necessary to make
some much-needed, and perhaps long overdue, updates and renovations to our existing church structure. In this way, we can guarantee that
our mission “…to share the Gospel and Love of Jesus Christ with everyone and to serve others as Jesus did” will continue far into the future.
To accomplish this task, we are about to undertake a fund-raising campaign designed to raise an ambitious $1,200,000 over the course of
the next three to five years. This bold venture is the result of architectural analysis, deliberation, and much prayer. The members of our
building committee, finance committee, and Pastoral Council as well as our parish trustees have all reviewed the proposal and have endorsed
the campaign. Our belief is that, just as our fore-bearers sacrificed to ensure our future, we should make similar sacrifices to ensure the future
of the generations to come.
